Whether you’re after a romantic weekend away, an escape with friends or catching one of the many concerts the Hunter Valley is now famous for, Madigan has a cottage to suit.
Settlers Cottage is your home away from home. Perhaps the most stylish cottage, Settlers is charming and cosy, for up to up to six people comfortably.
The master bedroom downstairs features a Queen-sized bed, and the upstairs loft area has 2 single beds. There is also a separate king bedroom upstairs.
The kitchen is well equipped with a large refrigerator, cook top, oven, and a microwave. Quality linen and towels are all provided and the kitchen has all you will need to cook with. Just bring your food and drink and you’re all set.
The patio facing the fields has an outdoor setting and BBQ – perfect for watching our spectacular sunsets.

Settlers is free standing, self contained cottage.
Madigan is a self-check-in property with a check-in time after 3pm. After booking, details of the check-in process will be sent to you. We always strive to accommodate early check-in and late check-out requests, so please inform us if you plan to arrive earlier than the set check-in time.
Madigan Cottages has 5 self contained cottages on 100 wide open acres. We also have Stomp Wine operating their cellar door on site. You`ll find lot of nature including kangaroos and rabbits as well as waterbirds on our dams. We have some paddocks with agisted horses. If your an early riser the hot air balloons are a magnificent sight in front of the property.
You`ll need a car to get around Hunter Valley, however, there are small bus operators that service the wine region and are happy to drop into Madigan to pick you up
There is lots of land to walk, ride or just sit on your verandah or the dam wall to read a book or watch the sunset.
Important: Before you arrive you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Truvi. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process. You will also be given the choice between a security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
Before You Arrive
- We offer convenient self check-in so you can arrive at a time that suits you.
- Before check-in, all guests are required to complete a quick online verification through our Guest Portal.
- Once completed, you`ll receive your check-in instructions, digital house guide, local recommendations, and the option to request early check-in or late check-out (subject to availability and additional fees).
During Your Stay
- Our home is located in a peaceful residential neighbourhood, so we kindly ask that you respect our neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum, especially during quiet hours between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am.
- To ensure everyone enjoys a relaxing stay, parties, events, commercial activities and excessive noise are not permitted.
- Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the property.
A Few Housekeeping Notes
- We ask guests to treat the property with care. Any damage, missing items, lost keys or excessive cleaning required after your stay may incur additional charges.
- Serious breaches of the house rules may result in your reservation being cancelled without a refund.
- If you need to cancel your booking, refunds will be processed in accordance with the cancellation policy that applies to your reservation. Please note that any applicable credit card processing fees are non-refundable.
