Enjoy and Celebrate the Rotary Club of Singleton on hunter, in partnership with Sacred Spaces at the Sisters of Mercy Convent and Singleton Arts and Music Society’s Singleton Arts Festival, a festival full of variety of displays of Classes, Lessons and Workshops, Exhibitions and shows, as well as Performances.
On the 9th to the 17th day of July 2011, the Rotary Club of Singleton on Hunter presents you the Singleton Art Collection’s first exhibition at Sacred Spaces at the Singleton Sisters of Mercy Convent, Queen Street, Singleton. This Singleton Art Collection is being displayed as a part of the Singleton Arts festival, for the first time. The Collection was acquired during the past 29 years of the Singleton Art Prize acquisitive process and has only been hung in Singleton Council offices and Singleton Library. This will be the first public viewing of this amazing and very valuable collection.
Come and grab the opportunity to browse and purchase the works of arts this inaugural festival displays! Also listen to the splendours of Newcastle University Chamber Choir in the Sisters of Mercy Chapel or visit the first exhibition ‘Civic Collection’ – the acquisitive prizes from Singleton Art Prize’s last three decades.
Jazz up to The Bob Henderson Band concert or join open rehearsals of youth theatres and see the performances of Mark Walton, as well as NAIDOC’s works of arts.
Go bring your family and have a picnic at the Covenant Gardens, and get the chance to and listen to the Singleton Town Band and the Broke Public School African Drumming Group perform at 1pm, before the official opening of the festival.
